How to use color therapy for healing

Colors have a subtle effect on our lives.

From the time we are born, we are surrounded with colors created by nature. As infants we learn and discover the world through colors, at first in the house environment, and later outside of it.

In time, we get used to the fact that the grass is green and the sky is blue. Later on, when we become adults, we forget to give these facts the proper attention, missing on the healing properties each of the colors around us can provide to us naturally. When was the last time you stopped and looked at the blue sky and enjoyed its natural beauty?

Interestingly, a human eye can perceive only three colors: blue, green and red. All other colors

are a combination of these three colors and they create what we call a spectrum of colors. This spectrum contains eight variations: red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, blue, violet and magenta.

As with everything in the universe, colors have energy. It radiates visible light energy that affects our mood, health and way of thinking. Our preference of one color over another is directly related to the energy that certain color makes us feel. Did you notice how sometimes you want to wear clothes of a particular color or eat, for example, a lot of green foods?

How can colors affects our subtle bodies?

We subconsciously pick the colors of our outfits and decorations for home that reflect what is happening inside of us. We do it because we feel so, and very often we are not aware of these decisions. In truth, these choices speak more about us than words. A person, who studies and practices color therapy is able to tell if we are happy in our life, mentioning our concerns or worries by just looking on what spectrum of color we picked.

Our personality are the colors we are surrounded by.

Colors impact our emotions and moods. Color therapy uses this sensitivity to identify and to correct any imbalances in the body's internal energy patterns that might lead to emotional or physical ill health. It is believed that each organ and body system has its own characteristic vibrational energy, and disorders can be healed by applying the color of the corresponding vibrational energy, either to the whole body or to the organ concerned.
