What do you feel when you look at the color yellow?
You might feel that all of a sudden your mental activity has been activated and a wave of positive vibration runs over your whole body. Also you might start to feel that your brain become more and more clear, and the mood is instantly uplifted. These are just a few examples of the healing abilities the color of yellow can provide.
If you want to use this color as a healing tool to restore health in physical, mental or spiritual areas of your body, here is what you need to know -
Yellow is a color of the third, solar plexus chakra. It is also our power center and the biggest nerve center outside of the brain. It is where it all begins. From the solar plexus chakra we receive true information about ourselves and the world around us. The solar plexus is strongly connected with our intellect and judgment. It is where the "gut feeling" or intuition resides.
Why is the solar plexus chakra yellow ?
Our energetic center, Manipura (the name for the solar plexus chakra in Vedic tradition) has the same vibrational frequency as the color yellow. Manipura is connected to our mental aura, and when it is pulsating it radiates yellow, bright energy.
This bright energy can help us to strengthen our immune system, improve alertness and concentration.
For example, yellow foods such as bananas, lemons, corn, pineapples, and fish can enrich your diet and subsequently improve the digestive system and enhance memory and concentration.
In times of depression and stress, wearing yellow clothes and accessories can help the body and emotions go back to a positive and cheerful state.
Adding yellow accents in your decor at home or at your work space will brighten vibration and create a cozy, welcoming feeling.
As everything in nature, sometimes yellow needs to be balanced. This balance comes from complementing yellow with another color. Yellow's best compliment is violet.
If you feel "too much yellow" around, you can balance its presence by adding violet. For example, you can change a lampshade for light to violet, add elements of clothes and accessories with violet or consume more violet foods. When the harmony of yellow and violet colors is present, you will notice how the feeling of peace and alignment surrounds the space.
